In Search of a Midnight Kiss

Finally, his best friend, Jacob, persuades him to post a personal ad on Craig's List. That is how Wilson meets Vivian, and how, together, they spend the last hours in the year and the first in a story that is just beginning.
A chaotic, sometimes hilarious, often touching journey through love and sex in a refreshing comedy that bears the hallmark of true independent American film.

La teta asustada (The Milk of Sorrow)

El verdugo (The Executioner)

José Luis, the local undertaker, is in love with Carmen, daughter of Amadeu. Caught in flagrante, the couple are obliged to marry. However, Amadeu is short of funds, and he persuades José Luis to apply for the post of executioner, which he is about to vacate, effectively inheriting his new father-in-law’s profession. Convinced that he will never have to actually execute anyone, José Luis agrees. One day, the dreaded telegram arrives: he José Luis is summoned to execute a condemned prisoner in Majorca.
In El Verdugo, an ironic tragicomedy that many consider to be the finest film in Spanish cinema history, Berlanga shows up all the contradictions inherent in Franquist Spain whilst making an impassioned appeal against the death penalty.
